Maori art, Waka Huia

When we went to the art centre we learned about a Maori Waka Huia. A Maori chief would keep feathers of a Huia bird which is now extinct in his carved wooden treasure box because they were special to them.
I called mine Waka Motokā because Motokā is the Maori word for car and I have a lot of special hot wheel cars that are very old.
These are some pictures of my Waka

I hope you enjoy it:)

Anzac art

                                                               ANZAC ARTWORK
On Wednesday 25 April it was Anzac day. So to celebrate, we made Anzac art out of pastel and paper. We based it on a sunset or dawn so we printed black silhouette. My art is a man kneeling against a grave.
Anzac means Australia New Zealand army corps. It is to remember the people who lost their lives at war

Thanks:)

Lake Heron

I went to Lake Heron in the holidays. Enjoy reading this senses poem I wrote about my trip.

Lake Heron
I heard birds in the tall pine trees chirping in the wind.

I heard Max yelling at me to jump into a bush. So we did flips into the undergrowth

I saw fish when we were on a kayak but only for a second.

I felt the strong wind making our tent wobble like crazy.

I wondered if the tent would fly away because the wind was so powerful.

I wondered if we would see a rabbit because we were up a 6 o'clock.

Welcome to my 2018 digital learning site

Scratch Project

Since the start of the year I have been making Scratch projects to work towards my technology badge. So once I had finished 5 of the projects I started to make my own project. I called it sharky!
You are the shark and your aim is to eat all the fish you can.

                                        Here it is

                                        Hope you liked it:)

Wonder - Chapter Chat

At the end of term three Room 18 started to read the book Wonder and we are doing another Chapter Chat on it. Chapter Chat is where we make activities and answer questions and then post them on Twitter. I have made some activities on Wonder so here they are.

This is my first activity. It is a poster saying you should not judge a boy by his face and what the saying means.

This is my second activity. It is a picture of my favourite Star Wars character R2-D2.

Thanks for viewing:)
